Polarity is an immersive experience set in a vast, cyberpunk future. The city of New Detroit is quickly descending into a living hell, its population plagued by a mysterious disease – in which the victim’s neural pathways can be completely destroyed.
The only solution is the Mindjack – the ultimate cyber implant – which completely and permanently re-connects the neural pathways of its user with their brainstem and allows them to re-enter the virtual world of cyberspace to explore.
After the Mindjack is implanted in their skull, users must attend an induced psychosis-inducing session in the virtual world which forces them to train their real-life brain in the hopes of surviving the technological onslaught of the universe.
A perfect example is the case of Jim-Mac the janitor – who became a skilled gunman thanks to his Mindjack. Soon he meets his match – a programmer named Candice, who intended to claim the Mindjack as her own when she became victim of a cruel neurosurgeon, but her experiment went horribly wrong. Candice kills Jim-Mac – but realising that he’s the only person in the world she needs to survive, she also takes Jim-Mac’s Mindjack and decides to become a highly skilled assassin instead…Description
