The first version of AutoCAD, released in 1982, was designed for use on an IBM PC-AT computer. In 1985, the software was rewritten for the OS/2 operating system, and became an IBM-PC compatible. AutoCAD LT is a low-cost 3D graphics software package that integrates functions similar to AutoCAD for the creation, editing and viewing of 2D and 3D graphics. It is designed for the mass market.

Also available is AutoCAD 360, a cloud-based 3D cad drawing service. It allows users to interact with AutoCAD drawings using tools such as the 3D Modeling tools, giving users the ability to create and edit 3D models and simulations, and modify and view the models’ 3D structure. They can also simulate AutoCAD commands like cut, copy, paste, rotate, and explode to create a 3D mock-up and/or prototype.

Pilot is the 3D CAD package for AutoCAD and 3DS Max. It is supported for all AutoCAD editions, from AutoCAD 2002 and later, up to and including AutoCAD 2011 and later.

The installation of the AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT system provides the core drawing and modeling tools used for drafting. They are composed of various tools which may be executed sequentially or simultaneously. (See figure 2-1.) These include:
Documentation tools, which include an interactive Help tool for user assistance, a guide tool that provides information, a favorites tool which allows the user to add drawing elements to an inventory for later use, a desktop help tool that gives various help and programming information, a topic tool, a report tool for printing, etc.

Many of the menus and toolbars (see figure 2-2) allow customization of various functions by the user, including creation of personal “favorite” (bookmarked) tools.

A selection of default tools and special tools are also made available.

All of these tools are contained within the standard toolbar that appears at the top of the drawing canvas (see figure 2-3).

why do I need an ‘if’ statement in php code?

I was wondering why the if statement is required in the code below, because it seems like it does exactly the same thing as having an else statement right? I’m trying to test out writing code with if statements only but don’t understand what the need for the if statement is. Can someone explain what it is doing?
