Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.
Developed and marketed by Autodesk, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD is also available as mobile and web apps.
AutoCAD is a complete set of drawing tools that allows the creation of two- and three-dimensional drawings. It has a number of unique features, including the ability to automatically create parametric equations and surfaces from selected items. Most users will only use a subset of the AutoCAD’s drawing features, but it is still an indispensable tool for architects, engineers, interior designers, and anyone involved in the design or drafting of products.
Use AutoCAD to create detailed plans, design mechanical parts, and solve problems. AutoCAD is used by a range of industries, from medical and architectural to industrial, engineering, and construction. AutoCAD includes drafting, editing, scheduling, and collaboration tools. The latest release, AutoCAD 2019, is currently the most widely used product in its market category.
A full-featured AutoCAD is worth considering if you design, create, or manage CAD drawings, especially if you work in any of the following industries: architecture, engineering, interior design, product design, or manufacturing. You should also consider AutoCAD if you frequently collaborate with other users in drawing projects and need a reliable CAD solution that’s easy to learn and efficient to use. If you use Microsoft Windows or Mac OS, you’ll also be able to use AutoCAD and a wide range of other AutoDesk products.
AutoCAD is easy to learn and efficient to use.
While many non-AutoCAD users complain about the learning curve of AutoCAD, a user with a solid drafting background will find that the learning process is quite straightforward.
The new AutoCAD can be accessed by downloading the program from the company’s website. To access AutoCAD, you must purchase it through an authorized reseller, or you must be in a situation in which the application is made available for use at a low cost, with the possibility of unlimited user access. However, any AutoCAD licensed for use in business can be used for personal use in a trial mode.

Other programming languages such as Fortran, Pascal, C++ and others have tools to enable AutoCAD customization.
The main functions of AutoCAD are 2D drafting and 3D modeling. Autodesk offers a variety of platforms to view and edit the design, including mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Autodesk has moved from single platform solutions to embracing multiple platforms, such as making the software available for iPhone and Android devices and tablets. Autodesk is also making major investments into cloud-based services for 3D model sharing and collaboration. Autodesk views AutoCAD as a component of its architectural model sharing service.
The basic engineering application is limited to 2D drafting and 3D-only 3D parametric and surface modeling. AutoCAD’s 3D engineering capabilities include:
Piping and instrumentation
Chemical piping and instrumentation
CAD Enterprise includes a variety of additional features, such as:
CAD Data Management
CAD 360-Degree View
AutoCAD supports an API for dynamic link libraries to add functionality, enabling developers to write Autodesk plugins.
CAD Software from Autodesk integrates with other products from Autodesk, such as:
Autodesk Mechanical Desktop
AutoCAD Civil 3D
AutoCAD Mechanical 3D
Autodesk also offers a variety of products that are independent of Autodesk AutoCAD software. Some of these are listed below:
Product Lifecycle Management
BIM 360 for Building
AutoCAD was originally developed by Autodesk for use in the architectural industry. The first version of AutoCAD was developed in 1986, under the name Carver. The name AutoCAD was given to the product in 1988 by Autodesk to reflect its adoption by the architectural industry. Carver itself had been developed by George Vondriska, who had also created VisiCalc, the first commercial spreadsheet, a few years earlier.
AutoCAD has been adopted by other industries as well. John A. Martin founded

Dear Dr. Coy:
I am a pre-med student and although I love the sciences, I am also very concerned about the environment. As a result, I became a vegetarian. I have eaten vegetarian for about a year now, but only occasionally. This past week, I did some reading about the environmental problem of overfishing and decided I had to make a stand, so this past weekend I ate fish, a first for me. The next day, I had a horrible headache and several hours later I was bleeding from the nose, ears, and rectum. My symptoms were obvious, but I never had a nosebleed before. I am concerned that my actions may have caused this. I can’t imagine myself doing this, and feel guilty about the fact that I ate fish. I have since eaten chicken, a piece of beef, and even fish again and I still have a horrible nosebleed. I am concerned that I have done permanent damage and want to know if I should see a doctor or just try to get over it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Dear Doctor No:
I hope that you recover quickly and your headache goes away. It’s only natural for you to feel guilty about eating fish and not having nose
