Automatically saving all changes to a file is great, but unfortunately it is very difficult to be reliable when it comes to applications that interact with other program files. Some application will not allow the autosave to complete successfully and will throw errors. Others will change the configuration of the file even if you are saving the file under the same name and location. Autosave works great in Notepad because it only changes plain text files. For other applications, I’m out of luck.

The “restore” button restores the file you’ve saved, not the file’s open window. (You can’t accidentally restore a document that has not yet been saved. Though AutoSaver keeps track of document open/saved, it just drops the save into the autosave folder, which is only accessible by the software.)
