foo dsp skip silence allows to skip silence parts with the help of the foo gui. Just add the new DSP to the plug-in list in foo gui and assign the DSP in the dsp setup dialog. The DSP works like the “silence windows” plug-in, but not only focusses on silence, but also on silence – and – silence – and – silence. You can also set the DSP to activate only once.
Thanks to the author of the “silence windows” plug-in which is already included in foo ui and allows to skip silence, this plug-in is now also included in foobar2000 without the need of the “silence windows” plug-in:

In foobar2000 0.9.5.4 onward, the current DSPs are included in this dsp so if you’re using that version of foobar use the “foo dsp skip silence” instead.
How to use it:
Download the foo dsp dsp file
Run it and open foobar2000 and adjust the params. You can use ui to adjust the slider for as many tracks as you like.
The settings will be saved per-user and you can also save them and use them in other environments.
You can change the filepath and filename of the file to suit your needs.
You can use the property tab of foo gui columns to adjust the settings. Make sure the “ignore” is checked for skip silence to be set correctly.
If you have an older foobar2000 and want to enable the foo dsp skip silence just open the user dsp and look for’skip silence’ in the property tab.

Passthrough on SafeDecoder.
On Windows the SafeDecoder will now skip silent parts of a track. This is the same effect as the foobar2000 DSPs and the foo dsp plugin on the other platforms.

What SafeDecoder does:
SafeDecoder decodes MP3 and OGG files. It can also directly go to the WAV files without conversion.
How to use it:
Download and extract the SafeDecoder and SafeDecoder SDK installers from here:

Go to the safe decoder folder and then to the end sdk folder.
The SDK has been compiled to be compatible with SafeDecoder version 3.5.
It is recommended to use SDK v.3.5 but you can use SDK version 3.3 or version 3.4 as well.
