LomPad Setup
The following steps will get you started with LomPad.
1. LomPad is generally installed together with LMS It can be installed from a download. LomPad may work with other LMSs like Moodle but it may take a while to get it installed properly. For Moodle an additional post install step is required.
2. Set a username and password in LomPad. Note that the login username and password are usually the same as the LMS admin username and password. This is set in Moodle when you start Moodle.
3. Log in to LomPad.
4. Read the welcome info on the main page and read and follow the instructions.

Deactivating LomPad is not a problem.
Simply log out of LomPad.

Reactivating LomPad is a slightly more complicated process.
1. Launch LomPad and check that there is a login message near the top of the screen. If not you will need to go through the login process.
2. Create a new administrator account
3. Go to your LMS and add that new administrator to the list of administrators there.
4. Log in with that new administrator account to LomPad.

Polymer-induced inhibition of the hepatic transporters Na(+)-K(+)-ATPase and BCRP is supposed to be responsible for the formation of the hyperbilirubinemia in polymer-treated neonates. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the type and degree of polymerization on the plasma total bilirubin (TBIL) levels and the induction of heat shock proteins (HSP70 and GRP78) in rats. Rats were given a single intravenous injection of Poloxamer 188 (P188) or its corresponding solution (control). Plasma TBIL levels were determined at baseline and 24 h later. Western blotting was performed to detect the expression of HSP70 and GRP78 in rat liver. Compared with the control group, the TBIL levels were higher in the P188-treated groups (26.46 mg/dL vs. 16.42 mg/dL, p < 0.05), regardless of the types and degrees of polymerization. Western blotting showed an increase in the levels of HSP70 and GRP78 in the P188-treated group. P188-induced hyperbilirubinemia was dose-dependent. It was proposed that P188-induced inhibition of Na(+)-K(+)-ATPase plays an important role in the increase of TBIL
