i have a 1999 land cruiser 1.8 xs with a l26e direct drive engine. i have a 5 gb sd card, that i am trying to get data off of, and transfer to my laptop running windows 7 and tis v8.01.038. i have tried to install the software with no sucess. the 1st time i ran the software it installed and then did not work. i uninstalled the software, but the card still does not show. i followed the instructions on the web, but am not being sucessful. is there another way i can make this card available from the computer? my main question is if the card is not available on the tis app on my laptop. how can i make the card available?

you should have a screen like this: click load and try to load drivers from the drive selected. you might have to connect it to a computer, be sure to open the mini-vci tools and connect the drive to the vvi2 installed on your laptop. then try to load drivers from the drive. it might ask you to connect the mini-vci to the laptop again. after that try to load drivers from the drive selected. if all goes well, the drivers will be installed on your laptop.

important note: you do not have to use the factory version of the driver. however, if you want to run the cable with a different version of the driver (e.g. mvci vision 2.01) then you have to use the version that is available on the manufacturer’s website.
now, in your downloaded zip file from the link provided earlier, navigate to techstream folder and double click the ‘techstreamupdatev8.10.021.exe’. this is a self-extracting (sfx) rar file. note that the new driver is usually 60-75 mb, while the old version is only 30-40 mb. it is recommended to compress the new file using winrar to make it lighter. on my system, i compressed the file using winrar to make it smaller, about 8-10 mb.
this step is also required for windows 8.1 and newer versions. to make sure your software will work on your computer, go to device manager and under “universal serial bus controllers”, the software will not run without a driver and “acpi_osprog32.dll” is the required driver for your os.
uninstall the mini vci card using device manager. select remove hardware. allow the program to unload the previous mini vci driver. then remove the card and connect the original card (vrc-62) to the computer. then double click the softstart.exe on the cd. it should start the firmware update on your mini vci card. allow it to update all the rams that were not updated already.
