A difficulty I faced in early days was that I tried to use Apple USB-to-Serial Cable (possibly for use with Mac) to connect the terminal to the Mac running OSX. After downloading a free copy of DiskWarrior, Boot Camp recommends re-downloading the software to maintain the latest available updates.
