the firmware is free to download and use. and we also have lifetime updates on all firmware upgrades. you’ll never have to pay again to update your r4 3ds card or any other version of the r4 that we offer. should a new update come out because we have discovered some incompatibility, or added some new features, they will be announced here and available for you to download at no cost at all. we always strongly urge all of our customers to use the latest and newest firmware and to install the newest versions as they are released. this helps prevent any issues with console updates that may temporarily not recognize the r4 3ds, as the new firmware once again enables all of the features we’ve all come to love about our ds homebrew cards.

there are quite large numbers of updates coming in gaming cards, and to continue their use at best we also need to upgrade them to the latest firmware released by the company owners. however, upgrading them is not as easy as it seems, and it might turn into a severe problem if you do not do it properly. also, some gaming console does not behave appropriately after their card is installed with the latest firmware.

just recieved 2 more r4’s, delivered in 2 days, excellent quality and working perfectly and very cheap, i love this product and so do my kids, it saves a fortune on games and games that you lose, my local market sells the iffy r4’s that wont play any games made after 2008, these play the latest releases with the new firmware installed on it v1.21b wich you can get from the website that is printed on the front of your box. will be making more purchases soon for my grandkids and maybe some xmas prezzies for friends

have had my r4 for about a month, has been working great. only problem is when i put it into my laptop with windows 7 the menus come up for about 2 seconds and then go back to the desktop.. nothing i do will fix it. had the same problem with my original 4v2. 0nly got around this with a very short bootloader. almost seems like a hardware problem as i have heard this wont happen with firmware versions 3 and 4. at the moment have not bothered getting an new rom, was just happy to get back my phone. only reason for rating 3 stars rather than 5 stars is i would have enjoyed a silver backplate as the original was pixellated. might get a new one for christmas? rating:
i have a rootable r4 and when i boot into it all the trophies are also there including version 1.21s and onwards, this was a big issue for me because i had to root my phone to get them so i put it on backorder. but i do have another question, when you put the phone into recovery mode and play your music playlist, the playlist at the end of it just goes to the end of the list and resets, even when you start the playlist again it resets. rating:
got my original r4 through the post as a present (dv110 right down the road from me, lol), so i hadn’t tested it out yet. changed that just yesterday. i had trouble with the phone turning on at first, not for long though. i recieved a lot of information in a few minutes, a few from rob and a few from mike and pippin. i had so much information already, it was all very eye-opening. i was shocked to learn that i had a cracked screen. that didn’t look good at all, let alone for the fact that i was using a non-smooth curved screen. the good news is i have a smooth screen. what does that mean? that i can’t get the 1.21 firmware. i want the 1.21 because of the texture packs, but i can’t get a dsi, so 1.21 is the way to go. i did learn that even if i got the 1.21 that i would still have to root the phone. i would only put the.000 rom back onto it. after that, i would have to edit my boot.scr to remove all except my usb and r4 sdhc. i want to do that on my own at the pace that i can do it, not due to anyone doing it for me. anyhow, let’s get to the job at hand. i installed the stock rom and the firmware. i used the xperiahome method for the later. i noticed that the boot.scr was underm0137. i have some experience as to how to use powerrar, so i couldn’t do it, but i am currently reading about it in the rom section.
