Really Slick Screensavers is mainly a collection of eye candy, amazing screensavers. The various libraries included in this project may be used for the creation of other screensavers or to support other software projects.
Installing:
Extract the files from this .zip file using your favorite zip program (you should have already gotten that far or you wouldn’t be reading this).
Place the .scr file(s) in the directory containing all your other .scr files. This directory varies between versions of Windows, but it’s probably something like “WindowsSystem32”.

MFC with a Windows API compatible back-end. It is primarily
designed for novice programmers as the interface is friendly and easy to

Really Slick Screensavers is a screensaver is based on the Quake3 engine.
With Really Slick Screensavers you can control the movement of a point
light in three dimensions, rotating around a point light source.

The screensaver works with 32 or 64 bit Windows 2000, XP, Vista and

There is one really nice screensaver that comes with the Really Slick
Screensavers package. It’s called “Smokin’ Good” (see below). This
screensaver would be a good example of how to use Screen Saver Studio

images for the screensaver into the directory with all your other
images. This is usually “WindowsSystem32”.

RSS is a collection of screensavers that are put together as modules. Each module in RSS is optional. This screensaver features unique acceleration effects. It is optimized for computers with 32-bit operating systems. A high-resolution artwork (in the theme folder) is used if your graphics card supports high-resolution textures.
Skyrocket is based on technology from 3-D Game Programming with DirectX (a book from O’Reilly). You can use the multiple camera views to observe different aspects of the fireworks (or any other simulation).
Skyrocket:
A six-part fireworks display (with 26 individual explosions) is displayed. Each color is a layer of the display. The particles are 3D particles with random color and velocity (for skyrockets).
The movie is played back at a continuous playback speed for up to 24 hours (and maybe longer!) with statistical (Pascal’s) analysis of particle velocities for each frame. Some of the particles are a combination of red, white and blue, just like fireworks. In some frames of the movie the blue particles can be found. This occurs when the particles hit each other and their colors combine.
You can control the rate of the particles. Turn down the “SpinRate” value (0.2) to see more particles. The same goes for the “Accrate” and “Decrate” values.
The skyrockets can be viewed from a variety of camera views. You can select a view from one of the 24 available. A “NextCamera” feature lets you toggle among the views. The camera views alternate for each frame.
Skyrocket includes a screen saver that shows the explosions. Turn it off to see the fireworks. On slower machines the animation is sped up a bit.
The Skyrocket downloads get stronger, but the memory usage is proportional to the speed of the fireworks. As the particle memory gets full, some of the fireworks might not be displayed. Turn off the “ContinuousMediaDisplay” to hide most of the particles and only see the fireworks.
Skyrocket is intended for Windows 3.1/95/98/NT/2000/XP/Vista/7.
Skyrocket is distributed as a freeware screen saver. It includes no strings, but there are some copyright terms which need to be read.
You can select different clocks for the movie (24-hour or 60-minute). Skyrocket includes an option for displaying an atomic clock.
